Prinkle, Srishti, Shashikant and Naresh moved into Prequarts

CLTA, Chandigarh, Tuesday, May 2, 2017                     Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) is organizing Zenlabs Ethica Limited CLTA-AITA National Series (NS) Tennis Tournament for Boy’s & Girl’s under-16 from 1st to 6th May, 2017.

In the Boys singles 2^nd round match top seed Shashikant Rajput CHART Trainee of Haryana defeated Deepender Grewal in a 3 setter marathon match. In the 1^st set tie break Deepender was leading 6-3, then Shashikant save 3 set points and took the 1^st set tie break 7-6 (5). In the 2^ndset Deepender won in the tie break 7-6(6). In the final set Shashiknat use his experience and variation of his ground stroke to close the final set easily 6-2. Krishan Hooda and Naresh Badgujar of CHART Trainee of Haryana also won from their opponent Sidharth Nijhawan and Shrut Mohan Nargeta 6-1, 6-0 in 6-2 7-6 (6) in a straight set respectively. Other players who moved into Prequarters are Divij Gahlot, Drona Walia, Nitin Jaipal and Sushant Dabas.

In the Girls singles 2^nd round match top seek Prinkle Singh of CLTA defeated Ashpreet Kuar Bajwa in a straight set. Prinkle won easily 1^st set 6-1 in the 2^nd set Prinkle face some resistance from her opponent Ashpreet Kaur but Prinkle use her experience to close the 2^nd set and match 6-4. Another CLTA Trainee Srishti Dhir won from Ashimta Kaur of Haryana in a one sided match by considering only four game 6-4, 6-0. Bela Tamhankar of Maharastra defeated Renee Singla in a straight set 6-3, 6-2.

In the Boys doubles Quarterfinal match Krishan Hooda & Bhupender Dahiya defeated Shashikant Rajput & Naresh Badgujar 6-3, 6-4. In the Girls doubles Quarterfinal match top seed Prinkle Singh and Kaavya Sawhney defeated Ameek Kiran Bhatt & Harleen Kaur 6-4, 6-1.

Tomorrow singles pre-quarterfinal round matches of Boys & Girls will be start at 08.30 A.M. onwards in CLTA, Tennis Stadium, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
