Calvin, Bhupender, Sarah clinch Titles

CLTA, Chandigarh, July 8, 2016                      In the boys U-14 finals CHART trainee Bhupender Dahiya defeated his practice partner Krishan Hooda. Bhupender was leading 2-0 in the 1^st set, after that Krishan fought back and made it 2-2. In the 5^th game both players held their serves. After 4-4 Bhupender broke Krishan’s serve and served for the match in the 10^th game and took it to close the set 6-4. In the 2^nd set Bhupender took 4 games in a row to lead 4-0. After that Krishan fought back strongly with his aggressive game style and used chip and charge to take next 3 games in a row and made it 3-4. Finally Bhupender came back strongly and closed the set and match 6-3.

In boys U-16 top seed Calvin Golmei defeated Naresh Badgujar of CHART in a marathon match which lasted approximately for three hours and twenty minutes. In the 1^st set Naresh played high quality tennis and conceded only one game to close the set 6-1. In the 2^nd set Calvin was leading 2-0. After that Naresh took next 2 games and made it 2-2. Calvin used his experience and variation of aggressive ground strokes and serve and volley to close the set 6-2. In the final set both players displayed a high level game and played longer rallies for most of the points. Finally Calvin closed the set and match 7-5.

In the girls U-14 and U-16 top seed Sarah Dev defeated Kiran Ameek in a three setter match 6-1, 0-6, 6-0 and Harleen Kaur easily 6-0, 6-1 respectively.

Krishan, Shashikant clinch U-16 Doubles Title

In boys U-14 doubles Anish Lal and Rishi Jalota defeated Dhananjay Singh and Uddayvir Singh in a closely contested match 7-5, 5-7, 10-8.

In the boys U-16 Krishan Hooda and Shashikant Rajput of CHART defeated Naresh Badgujar and Vatsal Chauhan in a three setter match 6-3, 6-7(5), 10-8.

In girls U-16 doubles Ameek Kiran and Harleen Kaur defeated Priyanka Jakhar and Prinay Panchal 6-1, 6-1.

Mrs. Bhupender Banta Singh, Member Executive, CLTA distributed the prizes to the winners and runners up.
