Double Crown for Shashikant

CLTA, Chandigarh, April 6, 2017                 In boys U-18 singles final Shashikant Rajput of CHART Haryana defeated his hitting partner another CHART trainee Bhupender Dahiya in straight sets. In 1^st set Shashikant dominated from the beginning, Shashikant used his variation of ground strokes to close the 1^st set by conceding only one game 6-1 easily. In the 2^nd set Shahikant was leading 4-1 after that Bhupender came back strongly and made it 4-4. Finally Shashikant used his experience to close the 2^nd set and match 6-4. In boys U-18 doubles final Shashikant Rajput and Naresh Badgujar defeated Akarshit Mahajan and Yuvraj Kooka in an easy match 6-2, 6-1.

In boys U-14 singles semi finals Ajay Singh of CHART Haryana defeated his practice partner Jitin Chetry of CHART Punjab in a three setter 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. In another semi final Sarabjot Singh defeated Pranav Chopra in a close match 6-4, 7-6(3). Ajay Singh will face Sarabjot Singh in boys U-14 singles final tomorrow.

In the girls U-14 singles semi finals Nimrat Atwal of CLTA upset top seed Krishti Boro of Assam  in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. In another semi final Kuhoo Atray defeated Prachi Batra in an easy match 6-2, 6-2.

In girls U-18 singles semi finals top seed Kavya Sawhney blanked Ashpreet Bajwa 6-0, 6-0. In another semi final Harleen Kaur defeated Himanshika in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

In girls U-18 doubles final Shrishti Dhir of CLTA and Kavya Sawhney defeated Harleen Kaur and Aishwarya in a one sided match 6-1, 6-2.

In boys U-14 doubles final Jitin Chetry and Sukhpreet Jhoje of CHART Punjab defeated Pranav and Sarabjot in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

Remaining finals singles matches will be played from 9:00 a.m. onwards tomorrow.
