Top seeds Shashikant and Prinkle into quarters

CLTA, Chandigarh, Wednesday, May 3, 2017                Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) is organizing Zenlabs Ethica Limited CLTA-AITA National Series (NS) Tennis Tournament for Boy’s & Girl’s under-16 from 1st to 6th May, 2017.

In the Boys singles Pre-quarterfinals top seed Shashikant Rajput of CHART Trainee Haryana defeated Krish Patel of Gujrat in a straight set. In the 1^st set Shashikant was down 0-3 then Shashikant come back strongly and took next 6 games in a row to close the 1^st set 6-3. In the 2^nd set Shashikant play consistently and use his variation of ground stroke to close the 2^nd set and match 6-2. In another pre-quarter match 9^th seed Drona Walia upset 6^th seed Nitin Jaipal of Haryana in a one sided match by considering only one game 6-1, 6-0. Other players who moved into quarters are Nishant Dabas, Sushant Dabas, Ajay Malik, Divesh Gahlot, Uddayvir Singh and Kushan Shah.

In the Girls singles Pre-quarterfinals match top seed Prinkle Singh of CLTA defeated Sandeepti Singh Rao of Haryana in a 3 setter match 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. CLTA Trainee Srishti Dhir upset 6^th seed Harleen Kaur in a 3 setter marathon match. Srishti won the 1^st set 6-2. In the 2^nd set Harleen Kaur come back strongly and took the 2^nd set 6-4. In the final set Srishti Dhir played in a top form and dominating with aggressive game style from the baseline. Finally Srishti took 3^rd set and match by considering only two games and won the final set 6-2. Sanya Singh of Maharashtra upset 3^rdseed Smriti Singh of Haryana in a 3 setter match 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Other player who moved into quarterfinals are Bela, Ishita, Kaavya, Vanshika and Prerna.

In the Boys doubles Semifinals CLTA Trainee Bhupeder Dahiya / Krishan Hooda moved into finals. Bhupender / Krishan Hooda upset 3^rdseed Ajay Malik / Nitin Jaipal Singh in a straight sets 6-2, 6-3. In the another semifinals Deepender Grewal/ Dhruv Tangri upset 2^nd seed Sushant Dabas/ Divesh Gahlot 6-2, 2-6 [10-5]

In the Girls doubles final top seed Prinkle Singh/ Kaavya Sawhney will face Sarah Dev / Prerna V Vichare.

Tommorow singles pre-quarterfinal round matches of Boys & Girls will be start at 08.30 A.M. onwards in CLTA, Tennis Stadium, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
